Matt Holliday has been considered one of the best hitters in baseball for many years.  He started his career out mashing in Colorado where he put up HUGE NUMBERS for years and years.  Always known for his very high average and above average power, Matt has a knack for driving in runners.  Holliday recently was signed by the Oakland Athletics and had a mediocre half season.  He wasn’t a big fan of American League baseball and the St. Louis Cardinals acquired him mid-season of 2009.

After signing with the Cardinals, Matt Holliday got back to his mashing ways and went on a terror the entire 2nd half of the season.  He single handedly led the Cardinals into 1st place in the Central and into the 2009 playoffs.  Matt had a minor blip in the NLCS where he missed a routine fly-ball in the Dodger series costing them the game.  St. Louis Cardinal fans are some of the best in baseball and they can forgive and forget.  Move on Matt – that is history.  Cardinals fans are looking forward to 7+ years of MVP baseball, NLCS Championships and World Series Championships!
